The Elizabeth Van Gorkom Genealogical and Local History Research Center is the Burnet County repository for local and family history. The Center is housed at the Herman Brown Free Library and open six days a week: Monday – Friday 10am-3:45pm and Saturday 10am-2:24pm.
Explore our resources in this spacious facility filled with materials covering most states, with special emphasis on Texas and Texas counties. The collection also includes extensive files on Burnet County history and Burnet County family surnames.
The Center also features the Community Heritage Display Case, a show case for local history. Exhibits rotate on a three month basis.
