Bluebonnet Festival and more make a Burnet County comeback in April
The Burnet County schedule of events looks a lot different than the 2020 version! With COVID-19 vaccinations on the upswing and reported cases going down, the county is opening up to all the festivals and fun we missed last year. Here’s what’s up for your April visit to the Bluebonnet Capital of the World!
FORT CROGHAN OPENS
Fort Croghan Grounds and Museum, 703 Buchanan Drive in Burnet, opens for the season. Step back in time to see original pioneer cabins from the 1850s, visit the museum, and have a picnic on the grounds. Admission is free.
FALLS ON THE COLORADO MUSEUM OPENS
Housed in a 130-year-old multi-story granite school building, The Falls on the Colorado Museum at 2001 Broadway in Marble Falls, reopens after being closed a year with a new exhibit, “Birds and Blooms.” Visit fallsmuseum.org for more information. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
BURNET BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL
The Burnet Bluebonnet Festival welcomes spring and the Texas State Flower with live music, parades, activities, and more. Headliner Wade Bowen takes the stage from 9:45-11:15 p.m. Saturday, April 10. Visitors can also enjoy the rides and games of the Mighty Thomas Carnival and attend a destruction derby. Most of the events take place on the courthouse square in downtown Burnet.
