Bluebonnet Airshow is coming in hot

The 34th annual Bluebonnet Airshow is coming in hot over Burnet on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The popular event hosted by the Highland Lakes Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force always draws a crowd. The theme of the 2026 show is “Heroes of the Hill Country” as a tribute to all generations of brave men and women who serve the nation and the community.

The grounds of Kate Craddock Field at the Burnet Municipal Airport will be filled with planes, displays, and vendors, making for a fun day. Gates open at 9 a.m. The airshow starts at 11:45 a.m.

Attendees are welcome to arrive before the action starts to check out the planes on the ground as well as the CAF museum, which is free to visit with airshow admission and filled with exhibits on U.S. aviation history. Spectators are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or pay extra for entrance to an area with seating provided. 

Entertainment for the 2026 event includes World War II-era bombers and fighters, aerial performances by the Falcon Flight Formation Team, high-energy aerobatics with Nextgen Eagles, skydiver performances, and others plus an ever-growing list of planes. Visitors will be able to purchase a ride on historic aircrafts such as a C-47 Skytrain, T-6 Texan, PT-17 Stearman, L-17 Navion, and a C-45 Expeditor. 

Kate Craddock Field is located at the Burnet Municipal Airport, 2302 U.S. 281 South. Tickets may be purchased in advance online or at the gate. Children ages 5 and younger get in free. Parking for the Bluebonnet Airshow is free across the highway. A paid parking lot with available shuttle service is located at Hill Country Fellowship Church just north of the airfield.
